Another Successful Post Seeding Field Walk for Liebe

On the 26th of July, The Liebe Group held its annual Post-Seeding Field Walk at our main trial site on the Carters property in Jibberding. It was an excellent turnout with over 50 growers and industry representatives attending.

Throughout the afternoon, eight of the 11 trials were presented to the attendees with our trial partners providing a brief overview of the trial aims, objectives, and any observed results to date. The trials are currently looking good although with only 82.5 mm falling for the growing season to date, they are quite a way behind where they have been in the last couple of season. We are now eagerly awaiting to see how the season plays out and what the trials will show.

After the field walk, everyone headed back to the sheds where Julianne Hill from the Grower Group Alliance teamed up with the Liebe staff and R&D Committee to facilitate a R&D brainstorming session. The session was successful with many new and interesting trial ideas and themes for the future. The Liebe Group really appreciates everyone’s participation, as well as Julianne for demonstrating her excellent facilitation skills.

After the brainstorming session, Keith and Boyd Carter demonstrated their fully automated chemical batching system to other growers. We would like to thank them for this, as well as for all their preparations in hosting the event.

The day finished up gathered around the fires for an enjoyable evening of networking, drinks, and a feed. A huge thank you to Elders Dalwallinu for supplying and cooking the BBQ.

Thanks are also extended out to all of Liebe Group’s Diamond Partners CBH Group, CSBP, Rabobank and RSM, with many of their organisations having representatives attend the day, highlighting its importance and value for the local farming community.
